CONVENTO CHAIR

The inspiration for this chair comes from furnishings dating to the 1880's and found in a convent in Lincoln, New Mexico. Lincoln was the former county seat and town made infamous during the Lincoln County War, a range and mercantile war. The war's most visible character was Billy the Kid, who made a daring and dramatic escape from the Lincoln County Courthouse in April 1881 during which he killed two deputy sheriffs.
